Jaime is my lobster. We speak almost every day. Mostly we talk about our dogs. What did they destroy today, how many times did we have to clean something up!!! All that fun fur parent stuff. It does actually feel weird to not just call for a quick check in each day. She’s also been a great help in my business, always playing the voice of reason and most importantly spell checker extraordinaire! {Sorry if I’ve messed anything up here, Jaime!}
So, when I was asked to be there and photograph such an important day in her life, I was of course honored, and a little nervous! There is always a huge pressure on a photographer on the wedding day. If the baker messes up the cake, by that stage in the day, people just usually go, “oh well”! But if the photography gets messed up, there is a little more of a, let’s say… situation. So doing that for a friend is the same as lending money to a friend, they say you should never do it. But then who can I trust to photograph my friends? And being at a wedding a not shooting is just plain weird! {Just like Portland!}
Jaime and Benjamin {BJ} were so relaxed about the day, and the Portland weather held out for us, to make this an easy day, and fun wedding for me. Plus I got to put down my camera and dance the night away, so that was super fun too. Here are the highlights from the day. Be sure to like the post and let Jaime and BJ know what you think.
{P.S – Family members, if there is an image you particularity want, just contact me, so Jaime and BJ can just enjoy viewing them, and don’t have to deal with the details.}
The Benson Hotel, in Portland is in the downtown area, and one of the oldest hotels in Portland. I also stayed there and the rooms are lovely, as well as it being a beautiful hotel.
Hello gorgeous!
I had some fun with the rings and all the cool textures at The Benson Hotel.
BJ looked so handsome in his custom suit. {Guys, it’s totally worth it.}
Getting ready to see each other for the first time.
I love this black and white image. Classic.
Family time. Aren’t these doors amazing?!?
Loved this run down place near the hotel. Real Portland history.
Too much fun!
I really want to know what he whispered.
My favorite image of the two of them.
I will risk my life for my clients, including standing in front of moving cars to get the shot!
Jaime and BJ are fans of the old grape juice, so why not use their passion as part of their wedding décor. Cool bottle decorations, right?
The Benson Hotel has a great open foyer area to have a cocktail hour in.
Who needs a cake when you can have a Macaroon tower?!?! Trust me, they were delish.
Speeches.
Some twirling went down on the dance floor that night.
Love!
