I have never professed myself to be a horse person, but I do appreciate their beauty. I am scarred for life after a childhood incident. I was on a horse at an after school club trotting round the ring when I was about 10. I didn’t know anything about horses and so shut my mouth but the whole time the helmet was banging on my head and I ended up with a big lump on my head. Needless to say that was the last time that I was on a horse, but I have always waved at them when I’ve seen them out and about.
When my friend Kim asked me to take some pictures of Delta I was more than happy to oblige. After she gave me some tips on how to move and act around a horse I got the camera out. Delta was very curious about my camera and had a few sniffs. It was really cool for me to see her up close and see her lines. She is very well formed and has lots of muscles. We just hung out for a bit while she ran around and showed off to me. Photographically it was a first for me and I look forward to photographing more horsies in the future!
Thank you Nicola for capturing all our favorite parts of Delta on film. They are things that only an owner would notice from the many hours of grooming and loving on your horse. We will treasure the pictures forever.
